ActionBall is a movement development program aimed at:

  • Gross motor skills
  • Co-ordination
  • Body image
  • Spatial orientation
  • Balance
  • Posture
  • Self confidence
  • Social skills
  • Muscle toning

Children who have participated in ActionBall demonstrated a significantly improved hand-eye co-ordination, balance, confidence and good general physical development after only a few weeks.

ActionBall has been developed by Carryl van Bassen.   Carryl was born and bred in Johannesburg and has always been an incredibly active individual since her childhood and teenage years.

Carryl was awarded her Springbok colours in life-saving as well as her provincial colours in swimming when she was a mere 16 years old. In addition to these achievements, Carryl was also awarded the State President’s Award for life-saving and her feats in respect thereto. As a result of her love for aquatic activities, this resulted in Carryl opening her own children’s swim school.

After having run a swimming school for 30 years, Carryl was dealing with children on a regular basis and started realising that our children are underactive, unhealthy and often overweight.

Carryl has always loved working with children which sparked an idea to introduce a programme which would encourage a healthy and active future for all children. As a result, ActionBall was introduced as this programme to ensure that kids would learn, as well as enjoy, being active and outdoor children again.

ActionBall has been a success ever since its inception and celebrates over 20 exciting years in the national market
